Winfield’s Intensive Care/Neo-Natal Facility, completed in January of 1985, provides an onsite intensive care unit, including a neo-natal incubator and modern laboratory, for those rare, yet real, situations that occur in the nurturing and care of this special breed. The incubator is pressurized with a drip humidifier through a three-stage duct-stat heating system that exchanges the entire air volume ten times per hour, while infrared contact heat assists in maintaining the body temperature of the foal. The foaling/intensive care unit is heated and air-conditioned with a system that exchanges the air volume four times per hour, providing an ideal environment for foaling and caring for intensive care cases.
The gallop pastures and lunging and walking facilities are excellent support for breaking yearlings, conditioning lay-ups and sales horses, and the overall health of the resident horses. All services are carefully monitored by top class professional horsemen and management team working hard to enable our clients to enjoy the true pleasure of owning thoroughbreds.
